Scallops

This customer had built the bike from the ground up and was running short on funds when it came time to decide on the paint color. We went with scallops on just the tanks and frame to save on costs.

Side note here: I've run into many people over the years who run over budget when creating their dream bike, and they figure they'll even out the costs when it comes time to find the painter. Considering that the paint is one of the most noticed attributes of your bike, I do not recommend it being the place that you try to save money. Think about it, you go somewhere other than Customized Creations because they are a tad cheaper. Then the paint peels a year down the road. Suddenly you don't have the same feelings about your bike anymore and you're ready to sell something that was your pride and joy a short time earlier, only because you cheaped out on the paint job.

The frame was sand blasted and powdercoated. The scallops were added to the down tubes in Passion Pearl with a magenta pinstripe finished with additional clear. Next we turned our attention to the sheet metal. No bodywork was necessary, so a color match was made to the powdercoated parts, and the tanks and rear fender were sprayed in Process Blue with clear. After wet sanding the tanks, the scallops were layed out and sprayed, some pinstriping added, and final clear. Meanwhile, the front fender was sprayed in the "Passion Pearl" purple and clear coated.
